Movie Review: Suicide Squad takes the Superhero genre to a new turn, using the Supervillains as the main focus of the story. The movie excels at its flavorful and eccentric performances by the talented main cast, especially Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Viola Davis ❤. Jai Courtney was pretty freaking hilarious and charismatic! 😀 This is one of the achievements for this film for me, he finally gave a good performance out of all his track-records of bland and hollow characters. The only questionable performance was Cara Delevingne as The Enchantress, but she did pretty good as her human character – June Moone. In my opinion, they gave one of the most entertaining performances all year. Unfortunately, due to the filmmaker’s excessive focus and attention being put into crafting great and good-looking characters, they failed to deliver a cohesive story, unclear direction and purpose, choppy editing and messy camerawork. Even when the performances were all-round great, they still lack the character development needed for the audience to be invested and connected with the film. Songs were also used in some scenes to establish “stronger” characterization, atmosphere and purposes of a scene, which I find to be really lazy as the filmmakers didn’t know how to enhance characterization or make a scene less dull. Strangely, the film’s CGI was surprisingly pixelated and unrealistic, given the film’s big budget and today’s modern tech, that took me out of the film. (It felt like it was CGI from the early 2000s) Gladly, I’m still able to have an enjoyable time watching the film and it is not a bad watch at all, given the characters great acting and interesting chemistry. With the potential of the main cast, the film can come back to be an amazing masterpiece if they take the poor mistakes from this film and improve on crafting a better and investing story plot.

I watched Suicide Squad with a bunch of my friends from university, and we all thought it was a great and fun watch after 😀 None of us didn’t enjoy or thought that it was a bad movie, that’s why I think most of the fans for the comic book characters or the beloved actors such as the awesome Will Smith, smokin’ Margot Robbie and unorthodox Jared Leto might find this movie really entertaining despite the many flaws and problems that honestly didn’t disrupt my viewing for the film. There are predictable and cliche moments, but it wasn’t too ridiculous and not facepalm-worthy at the very least. I can see a lot of people loving the film or at least liking the film, it’s a good movie if you want to have a fun time with your friends and just relax from all the stress at work ❤ It’s not a terrible film nor it is a great film, but one that definitely should deserve people to watch it. I’m confirmed to buy a ticket for Suicide Squad 2, just because of the fun actors and my optimism for them to improve better! Get Popcorn and Get Comfy, this is Captain Popcorn!
