Movie Review: A hundred percent yes on this film being one of my top favorite films, for it’s different and unique style of the story and characters, giving a great non-linear narrative and fresh sense of humor. This movie was spectacularly funny, and I think the main anchor for this whole film would have to be the two stars, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as Joel and Clementine, for the incredible chemistry they had with one another. Jim Carrey is freaking AMAZING, he is so unrecognizable in this film, playing a quiet and introverted man so excellently, which is so hard to believe as he is always a type-cast for crazy, loud and expressive roles, just being the classic maniac Jim. For me, this is his best performance of his career, he didn’t came off way too mopey or dull, and brought me a great dramatic performance. But that isn’t going to stop him being hilarious in this movie, he is still awesomely funny! 😀 Kate Winslet also does an amazing portrayal as Clementine, being a bright, colorful and explosively fun character, and I mean colorful, she has tons of hair colors in this film, and I love her, she is hilarious! ❤ Mark Ruffalo and Elijah Wood were pretty good in it, playing the doctors of the operation, and Kristen Dunst was pretty lovable too. I was amazed at my discovery of how a couple got started through how the story was conveyed backwards, truly is a clever idea of story-telling. I was very invested in Joel and Clementine’s relationship as the story progresses, adding up more emotional weight and realism to how a couple’s feelings can tragically fade. The dream like sequences were done really compellingly. Big props to the talented and imaginative screenwriters, for a truly memorable story.
